Mother’s Day Reminder

Last week was a weird one for me. From the time I woke up last Monday, I’ve been seeing a lot of those personalized promotional calendars that companies used as giveaways. It really bugged me out. At first I found it funny, but around Wednesday, I started to feel a bit scared.

I felt like someone was reminding me of something. I tried to recall some important event that I forgot, but I can’t remember a thing. Soon the feeling felt worse and worse. Those custom personalized promotional calendars started to freak me out. These items were everywhere, on the bus, in the office, even on the streets. There was even a time when I dreamed of those creepy sheets of paper.

And then I learned that my mom’s birthday was coming up, and that mother’s day is coming. You see, my mom died last year, and her birthday is Mother’s day. How did I know about it? Well, when I went home, I saw a lot of logo personalized promotional calendars with her picture on them. I now remember that we made it last year as a New Year giveaway to friends and relatives. But we never got to do it because of mom’s death.

That week was one for the books. The things that happened scared the hell out of me. But on the bright side, those calendars reminded me of something that I almost forgot. The bloodcurdling happenings have stopped now, and I’ve been sleeping a lot longer lately.
